Welcome to Woodland Turnings!

Allow me to bring my passion of wood turning to you,  as I work with many different species of woods from all over the world.  You will see the dark reds, oranges and black of Cocobolo, to the stark whiteness of Holly.  Here you will find wooden bowls, wooden platters, hollow bodied Christmas Ornaments, hollow form vases and urns.  Utilitarian items such as wooden rolling pins, honey dippers, drink coasters, candlestick holders and more.

I have been wood turning and woodworking for 10 years,  and have many completed projects and satisfied customers all across the United States.  Items may be as small as a toothpick to as large as we can find wood for.  The lathe I use in my craft is a Oneway 2436, a very fine Canadian made machine that is able to swing a 24″ diameter piece of wood over the bed of the machine, or a much, much larger piece of wood on the outboard side.

Using modern finishes and even some ancient finishes, I bring the surface of the wood alive with a tactile feel not often found in factory made pieces.  I typically will not use a film finish on a piece that obscures the feel of the wood itself, but upon occasion, will use a film finish that will provide a depth and luster all of its own.

Thanks for visiting my Woodland Turnings site.  Visit often as content will be added and updated frequently.

If you have an idea of a turned item that you cannot find anywhere, contact me, and you and I can work together to bring your idea to reality.
